An ear candle is a linear wrapped, tapered tube that is coated with natural beeswax or paraffin. One end is inserted within the ear and the other end is lit. The heat draws ear wax out of the ear into the tube. Ear candling has been known to increase hearing, stop ringing in the ears, and improve sinuses problems.
Candling is used by the Amish and in many homes as a self-help aid. Candles can be scented, plain paraffin or beeswax. If a bee allergy is present, other candles should be used.
